In 1980:

Edw. C. Levy Co. acquires stone dock, ready-mix prestressed concrete facilities on the Saginaw River in Michigan.

In 1981:

Edw. C. Levy Co. secures a blast furnace slag contract with U.S. Steel in Gary, Indiana and South Chicago, Illinois.

In 1982:

The ready-mix assets of Genesee Cement Products Co. were acquired and becomes Clawson Flint in Flint, Michigan.

Stacy Trucking was formed to haul aggregates.

In 1983:

The assets of Medusa Cement Co. in Oakland County, Michigan were acquired and becomes Milford Sand & Gravel Co.

Edw. C. Levy Co. provides J&L Steel in Indiana (later LTV Steel) with slab carriers.

Edw. C. Levy Co. acquires Ace Asphalt & Paving in Flint, Michigan.

In 1985:

Edw. C. Levy Co. obtains a blast furnace slag contract with LTV Steel in Indiana.

Edw. C. Levy Co. purchases the asphalt and paving equipment of Schmidt Construction Co. in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Edw. C. Levy Co. forms Triple E Trucking Co. in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

A slag contract is secured and Edw. C. Levy Co. begins operations at the Timken Corporation in Canton, Ohio.

Edw. C. Levy Co. acquires the sand, gravel, and crushed stone operations of Blount Materials in Michigan and forms Burroughs Materials Co.

In 1986:

Edw. C. Levy Co. purchases Florida operations including:

- Advantage Transportation (trucking company)

- Coral Rock, Inc. (limestone aggregate quarry)

- West Coast Industries (concrete plants)

- SEU (Southeast Underground) Construction

Schmidt Construction Co. expands to Castle Rock, Colorado with an asphalt plant and paving operation.

In 1987:

Schmidt Construction Co. acquires Menzer Granite Quarry and Fountain Sand & Gravel in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Edw. C. Levy Co. purchases Mesa Material Co.'s asphalt production & aggregate mining operations near Phoenix, Arizona.

In 1988:

The Dix Avenue blast furnace slag plant was redesigned and rebuilt to contemporary product requirements and to vastly improve it's environmental performance.  The changes include Levy patented hydraulic knuckled stacking conveyors for dust suppression and minimized product breakage.

Edw. C. Levy Co. rebuilds and expands a cement receiving and storage facility at Jefferson Marine Terminal on the Rouge River in Detroit, Michigan.

State Trucking was established to haul asphalt for asphalt pavers.

In 1989:

Edw. C. Levy Co. secures a contract to perform slag services at Nucor Steel (a mini-mill) in Crawfordsville, Indiana.

A joint venture is formed to serve BHP Steel in Port Kembla, NSW, Australia - Australian Steel Mill Services (ASMS). Services provided include handling BOF slag, air cooled and granulated blast furnace slag, metal recovery, turn key road design and construction, and waste water recycling.
