The Asphalt Pavement Association of Michigan is a

non-profit trade association founded in 1960 by a group of conscientious and
environmentally concerned aggregate producers to protect and promote the
interests, growth and welfare of the Michigan aggregates industry.
The Michigan Concrete Association (MCA) was formed, in 2009, by the merger of
the Michigan Concrete Paving Association (MCPA) and the Michigan Concrete Association (MCA).
MCPA was established in 1968 to represent concrete pavement contractors, to promote the use
of concrete pavement and to maintain a high standard of workmanship.
MCA was originally established in 1952 as a forum for the state’s ready-mixed concrete industry
and as an educational resource for consumers.
MITA is a statewide construction trade association
which represents the interests of Michigan's heavy construction industry, which
includes - but is not limited to - creating stable funding mechanisms and member
representation with project owners, unions and other state bureaucracies.
The National Asphalt Pavement Association (U.S.) is
the only trade association that exclusively represents the interests of the
hot-mix asphalt producer/contractor on the national level with Congress,

pavements and paving techniques used in the construction of roads, streets,

The National Center for Asphalt Technology (NCAT)
was established at Auburn University in 1986, and works to improve hot mix
asphalt performance through research, education, and information services. Their
mission is to be a world leader and authority in hot mix asphalt research,
development, technology, and education in the areas of Structural Design,
Construction Methods, Materials and Testing, Performance Measurement and
Prediction, Pavement Preservation, Rehabilitation, Recycling, and Maintenance,
and Environment and Highway Safety.
The National Slag Association, founded in 1918, is
a trade association uniting iron and steel slag processors world wide. The
primary function of NSA is to communicate and fulfill an advocate position for
iron and steel slag. Slag is the nonmetallic commercial product made in furnaces
simultaneously with iron and steel and used mostly as a construction aggregate.
The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association
(NSSGA) is the world’s largest mining association by product volume. Its member
companies represent more than 90 percent of the crushed stone and 70 percent of
the sand and gravel produced annually in the U.S. and approximately 118,000
working men and women in the aggregates industry. During 2007, a total of about
2.56 billion metric tons of crushed stone, sand and gravel, valued at $21
billion, were produced and sold in the United States.

The Steel Manufacturers Association (SMA) is the
primary trade association for scrap-based electric arc furnace (EAF)
