How to get our best service...
|
| |
|
|
1. Figure your loads carefully: |
| |
|
To have your order ready on time, we schedule
our mixers and raw material deliveries based on your estimate. Our
equipment can deliver up to 10 cubic yards per load. Frequently a
"balance load" will be required (example: a balance load order
for "50 plus" cubic yards means you need between 50 and 59 cubic
yards). If you find you need more than one balance load, we'll try
to accommodate you, but prior orders must take precedence. Any order
of less than 6 cubic yards will be charged a part-load fee, except for a
balance load required after a full load has been delivered. |
| |
|
|
|
2. Have directions ready: |
|
|
The more specific you can be, the more likely
your concrete will be on schedule. Please be prepared to give our
dispatchers street names, gate, door, and lot numbers, landmarks, and any
other information that will help us locate your job. They'll also
ask you what is being poured - footing, wall, pavement, etc. - and how it
will be handled - pump, crane and bucket, buggy, etc.-- to help our
drivers find the exact point of placement. At large sites, you may
want to meet our trucks at the entry point of the facility and guide them. |
| |
|
|
|
3. Decide what type of order to place: |
|
|
Firm, Regardless - To be delivered regardless of
weather conditions. Naturally, we still encourage you
to check with our dispatchers for severe weather
conditions that might effect delivery. |
| |
|
|
|
|
Firm, Weather Permitting - To be shipped at the
designated time if there are not threatening conditions, either at our
plant or the job site. If the weather is questionable, our
dispatchers will not ship without customer approval. |
| |
|
|
|
|
Will Call - This is not a true order, but simply
an indication that you may wish to place concrete. If you do not
call to convert the Will Call to a firm order within 90 minutes prior to
delivery time, it will be dropped from our computerized fleet management
system. |
| |
|
|
|
4. Timing is everything - placing the
order: |
| |
|
The more notice you give our dispatchers, the
better they can serve you. To assure first round delivery, 24 to 48
hours may be needed in busy times - 72 hours for special materials, large
quantities, or if Quality Control personnel will be required on the job
site. If delivery is needed outside normal business hours, please
give us extra time to make arrangements. |
| |
|
|
|
|
Always place morning orders by 3:00 p.m. the
previous day - afternoon deliveries by 10:00 a.m. on day of
delivery. If our delivery schedule is full, every effort will be
made to offer alternate times. Cancellations must be made no less
than 90 minutes prior to scheduled delivery.
The best method for placing orders is through a
site supervisor familiar with your site. Orders placed through a
third party can end up confused or incomplete.

5. At the site: |
|
|
Please don't keep
the mixer trucks waiting. Concrete has a limited "plastic
life", so any delay makes placement more difficult and, if water must
be added, it can damage the quality of the finished product. Six
minutes per cubic yard are allowed for unloading. After that, a
demurrage charge of one dollar per minute will apply. If there are
unique concerns regarding your order, Clawson and Killins Sales or Operations
personnel will be happy to meet with you on site. |

Every
one of
Clawson's and Killins dispatchers, drivers, supervisors and sales
personnel are eager to help
with the specific concerns of each and every job. These simple
guidelines are one way we can make both your product and ours a little
better. |
