SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Operates equipment including a 3900 Manitowoc Crane with power-driven mag or drop-ball, dozer and loaders for the purpose of breaking, extracting, and loading haul trucks and moving raw materials.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

·      Adhere to all local, state, OSHA and environmental regulations as outlined in the Employee Safe Work Guidelines booklet, Safety Rules sign-off and any/all information provided by the Company, steel mill, or customer.

·      Moving levers and depressing pedals to activate equipment

·     Performing daily machine inspection and routine greasing, oiling, and fueling

·      Utilizing magnet to separate and stockpile scrap 

·      Utilizing drop ball to break up and size raw material

·      Loading haul trucks with scrap 

·      Complying with weight limits when loading trucks

·      Meeting customer service expectations

·      Maintaining cleanliness of equipment      

·      Monitoring any change in machine performance to identify potential malfunctions

·      Assisting maintenance personnel with repairs     

·      Complying with all safety regulations and policies

·      Record keeping

·      Performing other tasks as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS (Skills, knowledge, experience)

 o  Ability to operate hydraulic scrap crane, loader and dozer

 o  Knowledge of materials

 o  Basic mechanical aptitude

 o  Ability to communicate well with co-workers, and customers

 o  Ability to read and write

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

o   Lifting up to 50 pounds

o    Using hands and feet to move levers and depress pedals

o   Sitting, standing, walking for extended period of time

o   Working outside for extended period of time in all weather conditions

o   Bending, kneeling, stooping

o   Climbing into and out of vehicles

o   Working at elevated heights

o   Manipulating components in hard to reach places with hands or tools

o   Hearing
